Yankee Image is a stock photography agency designed to offer creative
professionals a carefully edited library of quality images, pulled from
the files of some of the best photographers in New England and beyond.
Our intent is to create an environment where photographers can maintain
their individuality in order to more ably provide our clients with
original and honest images-images that convey a sense of verisimilitude
between subject and viewer.
The Yankee Image library
is presently divided into Color and Black &
White files. From our Color file, images are versatile in their
simplicity, able to deliver powerful messages from a seemingly stark
canvas. Our unique Black & White file-also know as the Mobius/B&W
Collection--is built around the concept of 'journalistic stock' - real
people doing real things. Following closely to this philosophy, Yankee
Image will be producing on-going documentaries from small towns,
photographing the residents over a period of years, mostly in black and
white, sometimes in color. The resulting photographs will convey a sense
of place, a sense of home, and a sense of roots. In addition, we will
continuously feature essays on subjects that interest our photographers.
Yankee Image was founded by Skye Chalmers and Peter Miller, and is
located in Waterbury, Vermont. Skye was formerly represented by The
Stock Market, while Peter recently ended a long relationship with The
Image Bank. We started Yankee Image as a way to preserve our
individuality in an increasingly homogeneous field, to concentrate on
content, and to develop personal relationships with our clients.
