The Yankee Image Catalog
August Ferdinand Mobius was a nineteenth century German mathematician best known for his analysis of a geometric phenomenon that would come to be called The Mobius Strip. Take a strip of film, give it a half-twist, bring the two ends together, and there it is. Three-dimensional, yet one-sided. Outside becoming inside. Twisted connectivity. A symbol of what good photography is all about. At Yankee Image, we represent photographs that pass the Mobius test. We select images that show great depth on their flat surface, that pull reality into our conscience, that connect us to the world with a unique twist. Images that illustrate the continuity which curls in a loop through humanity. The result of this endeavor to date presented here in these pages of our first catalog is a collection of compelling images that convey conventional messages, but in a unique and creative way. We expect future results to be more of the same, in expanding formats, subject matter, and locations. Enjoy the catalog.
